Invent a Culture
Individual Project submission
This is your major submission for the quarter, and it should be of high quality. Don’t miss the deadline for any reason! Extensions will not be granted.
Whichever option you choose, an excellent Individual Project will be one that references our course material in some way, incorporates research as appropriate, uses proper grammar and sentence structure, is creative and well-organized, and meets the length requirement of 500-750 words.
#Invent a Culture
Your job is to create a culture that doesn’t currently exist. In order to establish a culture, its people should have some things in common, which you should describe in details. Categories for these commonalities might include (but are not limited to):
- clothing style
- gender roles
- spiritual beliefs
- traditions
- rites of passage
- laws and rules
- social expectations
- education format
- hobbies
- housing/dwellings
- daily routines
- physical appearance
- etc.
You can write about this culture from the first-person perspective (as if you are living in it) or from a documentary perspective (as if you’re reporting on it.) Yes, you can use humor!
Your submission should be at least 500 words in length, and no more than 750 words.
