Park University Continuity Operations in Public & Private Sectors Project

Your final project will be an analysis of an organization’s continuity plan, with recommendations on how to improve the continuity plan. Using an organization with which you are familiar, locate the organization’s continuity plan if it exists. Describe the components of the plan. Identify any weaknesses in the plan, and provide suggestions on how the plan can be improved. Your analysis will also include a discussion of the threats and hazards facing the organization and how the organization’s plan addresses these potential threats. If you choose to use an actual organization for this project, you may refer to the organization by a pseudonym so you do not compromise the organization’s actual security.

If you do not have access to an actual organization and its continuity plan, you may choose an organization and conduct the analysis from an outsider’s perspective. You must still conduct a threat and hazard analysis so you know what risks face the organization. From this, you will develop a proposed continuity plan for that organization.

The essays or article reviews in Units 2, 4, and 6 are meant to provide background for your project. Choose peer-reviewed article for these essays that contribute to the analysis and recommendations of your proposed continuity plan.

Please note that your project should be free of spelling and grammatical errors, but the format may be more reflective of a continuity plan. That is, for the introduction and literature review, follow standard formatting and academic writing. For your recommendations or proposed continuity plan, you may use a format and style that is more appropriate for the organization you are reviewing. The project should be about 10 pages of content, with a cover page and reference list.
