A wonderful opportunity presents itself. The school district is selling one of its buildings for $50,000 and has offered it to your organization. Your organization has one month to decide whether it wants the building before it is offered to other nonprofits. This building is on the same block where you are currently renting for $25,000 a year and has twice the space as you currently have. Your Board is in favor of making the purchase because two years of rent pays for the building. Are you comfortable signing the agreement? Why or why not? Is this a crisis or an opportunity and why do you think that? In what way could/would forecasting impact your decision?
