Please post your Audience Analysis and Thesis Statement, and bring two typed copies to class.
AUDIENCE ANALYSIS: Who are your opposition? Consider who the stakeholders are. Discuss their demographics — age, gender(s), urban? suburban? rural?, political leanings, jobs, are they parents? etc. Discuss also their values and beliefs, and what common ground you hold.
THESIS STATEMENT: Your thesis should embody your entire paper. Since the entire paper weighs the opposition’s viewpoint with empathy, and then attempts to persuade them to hear your point of view, consider how you can best put that into one sentence. Remember the scales!
