Using the online database of articles in the library, locate and read at least one article about each of the following generations:
- Baby Boomers
- Depression Generation
- Generation X
- Generation Y
- Lost Generation
- Me Generation
- Millennial
- Net Generation

Which TV shows and movies does each generation watch? What is the work ethic of each generation? Which historic event formulated each generation? What are the differences between these generations? Which generation do you most relate to? What are the major implications for student affairs professionals working with these students within higher education institutions?
A symbol has been defined by Encarta® World English Dictionary (2007) as “something that stands for or represents something else, especially an object representing an abstraction” and as a “written or printed sign or character that represents something in a specific context, e.g. an operation or quantity in mathematics or music.”
Create a symbol that describes you and the generation with which you identify. Include a 3-page summary with answers to the questions above and the reasons you chose your symbol.
