Questions for the Week – Evidence Based Leadership
To continue our journey through leadership theories, we build off concepts introduced in Module One. Moving forward, the Module Two Discussion is designed to aid you in connecting the theoretical dots of evidence based leadership principles. Review Pfeffer and Sutton (2006) article about evidence based management. Next, review a video tutorial under Discussion section with the Course Media page. Select an evidence based management video of your choice. Then think about the principle of evidence based leadership. Think about examples in which you have witnessed evidence based leadership, and perhaps, similarities in your professional experience. Now, part of being in graduate school is conducting online research. Conduct online research using SHARC, Google Scholar, Professional Magazines, or Industry Journals to discuss the following questions. Now address the following questions within your initial discussion post and respond to at least two peers’ initial posts:
- Define evidence based management.
- Reflect on the influence evidence based management has on the workplace. Identify three positive and three negative influences of evidence based management practices?
- Suggest one specific and supported strategy for leadership professionals to learn more about evidence based management practices.
- Lastly, provide an example of evidence based leadership in practice. For example, is there a company, such as Google that uses specific evidence based practices to create a workplace that is innovative and productive or an example from your professional experience that you applied an evidence based theory to help with leadership.
NOTE: There are ample resources to aid you in completing this discussion question with aligned and supported resources. You can access those resources under the Course Media page.
Be sure to use proper citations and APA formatting in your posts. It is essential to give credit where credit is do for your online sources, i.e. cite the sources you found and do not copy and paste information from the web into your post and call it your own work – that is a plagiarism. If you have issues with citations or are confused on how to cite, it is encouraged to schedule an appointment with online tutor or writing lab. It is also encouraged to research that information online as well, i.e. how to properly cite information a source according to APA formatting, or what is and what is not plagiarism?
