Within the criminal justice system, courts operate in what is often termed an adversarial model. By this we mean that both the prosecution and defense take opposing sides of a position and argue that their side is the one with which the court should side.

In your initial response, discuss how the adversarial model impacts the treatment of victims, especially during court proceedings. Evaluate whether or not the adversarial model utilized by the courts works to the advantage or against a crime victim.
