A market domain may be defined as a segment of a broader industry with a strategic focus or target of meeting a particular business or customer need in the marketplace. In this course, we use the example of the emergence of the light rail transportation market that is a segment of the larger transportation industry. The market domain may be emerging or established but your chosen domain should provide sufficient public information for your research in the remainder of the course.
