Discussion 6-9

#1 Should we Purchase Extended Warranties for Household Products? With almost every major item we purchase (especially electronics!) we have the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty that will cover the item 2-3 years beyond its extended warranty. If the item breaks during this time, it is either replaced or repaired, or you are reimbursed for the item. These warranties normally cost between 10-20% of the purchase price for the product, depending on the item. Do you think it’s worth purchasing extended warranties on all household products? Or do you think that we should only protect certain kinds of items? Use probability theory to justify your answer.#2Meaningful Sampling MethodsSuppose we want to find how popular a bill is in a medium-sized city of 500,000. Of course, it’s not really possible to sample all of these people… it would be very expensive and time consuming.Define a sampling method that you would use to guess the popularity of this bill. How many people would you sample this population? Would you travel door to door, or would you send out a form via mail? How would you design your sampling method, so that it is not biased?Once you have designed your sample, define the parameter of this study and the sampling error.#3Choosing the Right Measure of Central TendencyAs we have learned, there are several definitions of central tendency: mode, mean, median, and mid-range. Define each of these terms in your own words. Once you have defined these terms, find an example for each term where that method would be appropriate to find an “average” value.#4Revisiting our BeginningsAs we approach the end of this course, let’s circle back to the very beginning. Think about our journey together. We’ve learned so much from each other in a short amount of time!Take some time to review your discussion posts for the first few weeks of the course. How has your understanding of finance and statistics grown since the first weeks of the course? How do you think you will apply the material you have learned in this course? Has the material you’ve learned in this course resonated with your own personal/professional life? How will knowledge of this information help you become a better data consumer?Let’s take some time to share our takeaways from the course and consider how we might continue to be engaged in Statistics in the future.

Hypothesis Testing

Describe a hypothesis test study that would help your work or conclusions in some way. Describe what variable would be tested and what would be your guess of the value of that variable. Then include how the result, if the null were rejected or not, might change your conclusions or actions in some way.

Final Exam in Statistics (Need it done tomorrow)

I have a final in statistics that I need done. It is timed. I would have 2 hours to start and finish the exam meaning that you would have about (at max) 1 hour and 45 minutes to get it back to me. It is a 13 question exam and I need to receive a 100% on it.Below I will attach a copy of the mid term and if you feel like you could get a 100% on that then please let me know and you can start on the other exam tomorrow. If you feel like you cant, its okay, be very careful because if I do not get a 100% then I will not be tipping, and I tip well.

Blockchain Initiatives Literature Review

While most applications of blockchain technology have emerged in the financial sector (for example, Zcash, Circle, and Abra), its practical applications go beyond finance, because essentially any type of digital asset can be tracked and traded through a blockchain. Many different industries are experimenting in the blockchain space, even though this experimentation is still in its early stages. Examples range from medical records (MedRec, PokitDok), to digital rights and micropayments (Brave Browser, Ascribe, Open Music Initiative), identity systems (uPort), and supply chains (Everledger, Hyperledger). For your literature review this week, you are required to choose a blockchain initiative that interests you. It could be an existing application that you have come across in your own research, one of the examples listed above, or an idea that you may have for blockchain technology as a solution to a business problem. You are to review the literature on your blockchain initiative and discuss problems and gaps that have been identified in the literature. You will expand on the issue and how researchers have attempted to examine that issue by collecting data – you are NOT collecting data, just reporting on how researchers did their collection.Paper Layout:Title PageTable of contents:Use a Microsoft Enabled Table of Contents feature. Background:Describe the issue, discuss the problem, and elaborate on any previous attempts to examine that issue. Be sure to discuss similar blockchain initiatives here.Research Questions:In the identified problem area that you are discussing, what were the research questions that were asked? Be sure to include main research questions from all the literature you are reviewing.Methodology:What approach did the researcher use, qualitative, quantitative, survey, case study? Describe the population that was chosen. You will discuss the methodology for all the literature you are reviewing.Data Analysis:What were some of the findings, for example, if there were any hypotheses asked, were they supported? Conclusions:What was the conclusion of any data collections, e.g., were research questions answered, were hypotheses supported? Be sure to also include the similarities and differences between the literature. Also discuss here the future of this blockchain initiative and if it is a viable initiative.Paper requirements:Be a minimum of 7 pages in length, not including the required cover page and reference pages.Follow APA 7 guidelines. Be sure to conduct research on formatting literature reviews.Your literature review should include a minimum of 8 scholarly peer-reviewed journal articles.Be clear and well-written, concise, and logical, using excellent grammar and style techniques. You are being graded in part on the quality of your writing. You can use Grammarly for help with your grammar and spelling.
