Unit 4 Discussion, business and finance homework help

In your individual Assignment for this week, you will take a learning journey to understand the role of market research by learning from Market Research Subject Matter Experts (SME) and incorporating the results of this interview into the learning goals you have set for yourself on this topic. By talking with those who do market research work as their primary occupation or as part of their daily business responsibilities, you will learn about the methods they use, how they measure success and other important information that you can apply in the marketplace simulation.

Sharing what you have learned from the interview with the expert contributes to team learning, which is one of the five disciplines that contribute to a learning organization (Senge, 1990). For the Discussion post, contribute to the team learning by presenting the highlights of your paper and discussing with your peers the results of this journey. Please post the results of your individual Assignment in final draft form to the Discussion Board by Saturday night (attached in a Microsoft Word doc) to give others the chance to read your entire work if they would like more information in addition to your highlights.

Here are some ideas that you can include in your post that others can learn from and incorporate into future learning journeys. Click here for some ideas on how you can identify a market research professional or company.

  1. How did you find your Subject Matter Expert (SME)? Discuss any difficulties and how you overcame them.
  2. As you asked your SME questions about the areas that you wanted to learn more about, what were the important points or areas of greatest learning for you? Were there any surprises?
  3. Did the interview results provide any new ideas for you to explore?
  4. What links were you able to see between the information you gathered and the marketing research information provided for you in the simulation?

Assignment: Revised Problem Statement, management homework help

Topic for Problem Statement: Workforce Conflict in China

At the end of your previous course, DDBA 8161, you submitted a draft Problem Statement. As you will recall, it is critical that you ensure your problem statement is business focused. It must not represent a problem that has a social, psychological, educational, or other discipline-specific emphasis. A business problem presents a challenge or issue from the perspective of business managers or industry leaders who are in a position to address the problem. Therefore, it is important to adopt a management perspective, and not a perspective of a social advocate.

The Walden University model for writing the DBA Problem Statement comprises four elements, to include the (a) hook, (b) anchor, (c) general business problem, and (d) specific business problem. As you explore the DBA model for writing an effective business problem, you will notice the hook, anchor, and the general business problem can be very similar (if not exactly the same) for a quantitative and qualitative study addressing the same problem/phenomenon. However, a clear distinction exists between the specific business problem for a quantitative and qualitative study. In this Assignment, you will build upon your work from Week 8 of the previous course (DDBA 8161) to gain a deeper understanding of the alignment between research method (quantitative and qualitative) and the Problem Statement, specifically the “specific business problem.”

To prepare for this Assignment, review the draft business Problem Statement you wrote in DDBA 8161, as well as the reference materials provided in this week’s Required Readings and Media. Be sure to examine the differences between quantitative and qualitative Problem Statements. Consider the impact of a well-crafted Problem Statement on developing an effective Doctoral Study Prospectus, and incorporate any feedback from your peers’ review of your draft Problem Statements in this week’s Discussion.

By Day 7

Submit the following:

  • One quantitative Problem Statement, based on draft Problem Statement submitted in DDBA 8161 and revised to incorporate any relevant feedback from your peers
  • One qualitative Problem Statement, based on draft Problem Statement submitted in DDBA 8161 and revised to incorporate any relevant feedback from your peers
  • A 1-page description and rationale for changes made to both quantitative and qualitative Problem Statements, including supportive references to the Doctoral Study Rubric and Research Handbook

Note: Be sure to use the APA Course Paper Template (6th ed.) to complete this Assignment. Also, refer to the Week 4

Landlord – Tenant Law, writing homework help

Landlord-Tenant Law

Larry Landlord has recently renovated an apartment and has put it on the market to be rented for $800.00 a month. Larry Landlord has been in business for approximately five (5) years and has had both positive and negative experiences with tenants. Larry Landlord is hoping to find a good, long-term tenant for his apartment. Roger Renter saw Larry’s sign for the apartment for rent and thought the location and the apartment would be perfect. Roger met Larry to look at the apartment and Roger fell in love with it. All of the interior fixtures had been replaced and the unit had a nice large closet. Roger noticed that although newly painted, the exterior of the apartment did show a little bit of wear. Because of the condition of the exterior of the building, Roger asked Larry about any roof leaks. Larry stated that he had never had a leak and was not aware of any leaks.

Roger and Larry entered into a valid contract for the rental of the apartment. (Note: The issue of whether or not a contract exists is NOT part of this question. For purposes of this question assume the contract is valid and there are no issues with the contract.)

Roger Renter was very happy in his new location; the apartment was quiet and the neighbors were friendly. Larry Landlord was also very happy because Roger Renter was a model tenant. Roger Renter paid on time and was quiet and respectful to other tenants.

The part of the country where Roger rented was rainy in the summertime. Roger rented and moved into the apartment in October. In June, a tremendous rainstorm occurred and Roger’s roof began to leak. The leak was minor at first and Roger merely put a trash can under the leak and had no other issues that month. When handing over his monthly rent check, Roger told Larry about the small leak. Larry thanked Roger for letting him know about the leak and told Roger he would have it fixed.

The next month the rains came again and the leak grew larger in Roger’s apartment. Roger was not home at the time of the rain and therefore the leak damaged some of Roger’s furniture. Roger called Larry to let him know that there was a leak and asked when it might be fixed. Roger also stated that he thought Larry had fixed the roof. Larry curtly stated, “When it rains, sometimes it pours. When it pours, sometimes it leaks.” Roger did not like Larry’s tone or response and called back to ask when the roof might be fixed. Larry stated, “When I get to it.” The following day, Roger sent Larry a note about the roof leak and asked Larry to please address the issue.

The week before the rent was due, another rainstorm occurred and the leak was even larger. This time the leak damaged Roger’s clothing, furniture, and some precious items he had inherited from family members. Roger called Larry and asked Larry to fix roof immediately. Larry responded in a similar and condescending manner. Roger hung up the phone and threw his baseball bat against the wall, damaging the drywall and knocking out an electrical socket.

Since it was the rainy season, Roger knew it would rain again and therefore simply moved his items away from the leak and did nothing to help mitigate the damage from the leaking roof.

Larry came into the apartment to investigate the leak and found damage from not only the leak but also from the thrown baseball bat. Roger states that the baseball bat damage was a direct result of Larry’s inability to fix the leak based on his anger from Larry’s curt response.

Suppose you are a mediator. In five to seven (5-7) pages discuss the rights and responsibilities of the landlord and the tenant in which you:

  1. Explore the legal rights and responsibilities of the tenant and the landlord.
  2. Decide whether or not the landlord and / or the tenant had a legal duty to mitigate damages.
  3. Determine whether or not Larry has legal grounds to evict Roger. Explain why or why not.
  4. Describe whether or not Roger has a legal obligation to pay for the damage he caused and determine whether or not Larry would be liable for any direct damage.
  5. Support each response with facts presented in the scenario.
  6. Use proper legal terminology throughout your responses.
  7. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as quality academic resources.

week 6 posting – HR

Hello, please see the instructions below:

  1. Download and read the Block (2011) report “Caring about Place” via the link: http://asq.org/teamwork/1998/01/news-for-a-change-v52-i01-feature-article-caring-about-place.html?shl=089141
  2. Navigate to the Flawless Consulting: Implementation and Engagement discussion thread below and respond to the following questions:
    1. Caring about Place: Rearrange the Room.
      1. Reflect on a recent workplace meeting you attended or a future workplace meeting that is yet to be held.
      2. Identify the purpose of the meeting, the attendees, and the room arrangement for the meeting (prior to any suggestion for change).
      3. Next, describe how you would rearrange the room to obtain maximum performance by all attendees based on guidelines shared by Block (2011) and other research. Include in your posting the purpose or what you hope to achieve by rearranging the room. Optional: Consider the option of attaching a picture(s) or sketch of the meeting room setting prior to the room rearrangement and/or afterwards. Although this option carries no additional grade point value, it is provided here to allow for your creative expression in the learning process and to facilitate your discussion of the room rearrangement.
      4. Note: The American Society for Training and Development—with a recent name change to Association for Talent Development—provides excellent resources to support your research.
    2. Another Way to Engage.
      1. Research one of the seven remaining ways to engage (discussed on pages 266-275) and recommend how it could be put to use in the workplace. Be specific and in your response provide evidence of knowledge of key principles of each consulting phase learned thus far in the course. For example, one principle of the implementation and action phase requires “designing each gathering to strengthen engagement” (Block, 2011, p. 262).
      2. Note: It may be beneficial to speak to the choice of the second way to engage by placing it in context to a particular event in your workplace. As Block (2011) reminds us
…each consulting event needs to be a sample of the way we wish the larger change to precede. Each moment becomes an example of the destination. If you are holding a meeting to discuss a new set of measures for a telephone call center, for example, this meeting on measures needs to embody major principles of engagement such as putting real choice on the table and dealing publicly with difficult questions. (pp. 262-263)
  3. Provide a detailed post that demonstrates clear, insightful critical thinking. Your initial posting should be 200 words long.
  4. two sources properly cited and referenced: (a) the Block, P. (2011. Flawless consulting: A guide to getting your expertise used (3rd ed.). San Francisco, CA: Pfeiffer. ISBN: 978-0-470-62074-8

Product Differentiation

Read the following article about Apple at http://www.mbaknol.com/management-case-studies/case-study-on-apples-business-strategies/. Think about the role of product differentiation in a global context and then answer the following questions:

  • How has Apple positioned itself to take advantage of unique designs to attract a sufficiently large niche market to surpass the competition in the United States and China?
  • What does the Apple experience tell us about risks associated with strategic alliances or the risks associated with not pursuing strategic alliances?

Your well-written paper should meet the following requirements:

  • 4-6 pages in length
  • Support your analysis by referencing and citing at least three credible sources in addition to the course textbook. The SEU Virtual Library is an excellent place to search for scholarly articles.
