Substitution Effect

Views of price elasticity is different for teenagers than adults. Thinking back to when you were a teenager, were you more or less price sensitive than you are now in making gasoline consumption decisions? When you encounter an unexpected increase in gasoline prices now, what is your reaction to the changes in price? Do you apply the substitution effect of your favorite service station (Exxon, Shell, BP, etc.) when prices increase?

HIV/AIDS

Part I: HIV/AIDS has affected millions of people in the United States and the world since the 1980s. On a global scale, large numbers of people with HIV/AIDS are not receiving the needed treatment. Congress created The Ryan White Care Act of 1990 to assist public hospitals struggling financially from caring for uninsured men and women living with HIV/AIDS. There were four Titles written into The Ryan White Care Act of 1990. In recent years the Titles have moved into five Parts, Part A-F focusing on a variety of topics.

In 2014, the Affordable Care Act gave insurance access to many of the uninsured population. Over the past few decades, countries like England and Canada have a lower percentage of HIV/AIDS cases. Is this due to their healthcare structure? In 4-5 pages, discuss the following.

  1. Explain the purpose of each of the five Parts in The Ryan White Care Act.
  2. Explain other viewpoints or opposing viewpoints of the Act.
  3. Describe your stance on if there is a need for the Ryan White Care Act with the Affordable Care Act. Think about other countries.
  4. This portion of your assignment will require you to research and examine information from various sources. Use a minimum of three credible sources for your paper, with three being an academic source from the Rasmussen College Online Library (don’t forget to include in-text citations throughout your paper with paraphrasing or quoting)
  5. Make sure to include your APA formatted reference page.

Part II: Based on your research you decide which one of the previous communication tools would be most effective to communicate your findings. Keep in mind the position and facility you selected and create a memo, a PowerPoint, detailed meeting agenda, or an information sheet. Cultural Analysis

Due to the significant impact of culture in the business environment, use Hofstede’s compare countries resource to choose a country for your project and conduct a cultural analysis of your project country, using the resource to investigate the specific culture scores for Hofstede’s dimensions of culture. In this discussion, you will work on the following critical elements: Values and Communication and Business Etiquette.

What risks or opportunities can you identify from this analysis of culture? Consider areas of management that can be adjusted when considering cultural drivers.

Respond to two of your classmates and make observations based on the information they provided. Work to include personal insight and research to supplement your classmates’ analyses.

Once you have received feedback from your peers and instructor, you will insert your data and summarize your analysis findings in the Final Project Presentation Template provided. Use the Final Project Guide to help you generate presentation ideas.

This is your second step toward the comprehensive final project presentation. Your first final project checkpoint submission will be in Module Three.

Note: You will not be able to see any of your peers’ discussion posts until you have created and posted your own discussion thread.

Assignment

Overview: Persuasion is a constant in each of our lives. No matter where we look, what we read, what we see, or who we interact with, we are inevitably going to encounter some form of persuasion. Advertisements want us to buy things. Newspapers and television want to convince us of how we should feel about events. We are put into positions where we must defend our thoughts and beliefs to others, and the process we apply is typically some form of persuasion.

Persuasive writing is one of the most powerful forms of writing—it has the ability to influence one’s thoughts, and also the ability to change one’s mind about a particular issue. The persuasive essay is an ideal tool for supporting an opinion on an issue using researched facts and information. It also gives you the chance to recognize an opposing viewpoint and refute it, noting that those who hold the opposing viewpoint are the intended audience of the piece.

Prompt: For this milestone, you will use a guided prompt to write notes that will help you better understand how to approach the persuasive essay. As you follow the guide, remember to use feedback from Module One when discussing your issue. These writing notes will help you address the critical elements below, which will ultimately inform your final submission of the persuasive essay. By the end of this activity, you will have completed a writing plan that will be submitted as a single document.

Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

I. Writing Plan: Use this writing plan as a way to gather your thoughts and determine your strategy for writing your persuasive essay. This process will allow you to develop a potential structure for effectively persuading readers to agree with your argument. This plan will be helpful in keeping your thought process on track when you begin writing and revising your essay. 1. Your argument is the main point that you are trying to make in your essay. It should clearly state your opinion on your issue. Describe the argument to be addressed in your persuasive essay, and include how the argument is connected to your major, the major you are considering pursuing, or your field of work.  2. Key points are pieces of evidence that support an author’s main argument. What are three possible key points for your selected issue? How do they support your main argument?  3. Your audience is the person or people you are addressing in your essay. Who is the audience that will be reading your essay? What potential challenges will you encounter in supporting your argument with this audience?  4. Your goal is the end result that you wish to achieve in writing this essay. What goal do you hope to accomplish? What will this essay need to be successful?  5. Potential resources are pieces of evidence that could be used to support your argument. List potential resources that could be used as supporting evidence for your argument, and provide a brief description of each and how it will reinforce your argument.  6. Using the supporting resources you identified above, list each of the points of your argument with the resources that support them. This process will help you begin to form an effective essay structure.  7. Determine aspects of your argument that would be effectively supported with evidence. Defend your choices.

BBA 301 – Week 2 Data Validation Assignment

The HR tab in Hospital.xlsx file contains the employee records downloaded from the personnel database of a fictitious hospital.  Data is required in all fields except Address 2 and Phone. If a phone number is entered it must adhere to the 999-999-9999 format.

At least 100 data errors exist in this file.

On the Errors tab in Hospital.xlsx file, document each error by identifying the location of the error (ID Number), the type of error (omission, range, data entry, etc.), and the correct information, if known. Business

This week our learning is on income distribution around the world.  We note some very interesting trends – The rise of the middle class; reduction of poverty across the globe, 3) the rise of the 1percenters etc.  These trends have major implications on economic growth and consumption patterns across the globe, especially when coupled with population dynamics.

Select a country (suggest:  Malaysia, China, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Turkey S, Africa…) for more in-depth understanding and discussion.  Use country data from sources provided in the Lib Guides (start here first).  Discuss your thoughts and analysis of the income undercurrents based on your learning from the video lectures and assigned readings.

Do not go to some website and copy and paste. Use your learning this week to apply your analytical skills in order to further your learning.

  • Research data. Do not hesitate to analyze or explain the data, and the assumptions underlying the data.
