Nine Principles of a College Culture
Due Monday
As a professor at the University of California at Los Angeles, Patricia McDonough has worked with middle schools, high schools, and school counselors to conduct research about college access and college choice. McDonough (2006) developed nine principles of a college culture.
Choose one of the 38 profiles (this may be the same school you selected in Week 5 or a different one) in Creating College Readiness: Profiles of 38 Schools That Know How (EPIC, 2009) and identify what school leaders have done to build a college culture. After reading What Is a College Culture? (McClafferty, McDonough, & Nunez, 2002), use McDonough’s nine principles to explain your evaluation.
Support your statements with evidence from the required studies and your research. Cite and reference your sources in APA style.
