Greetings everyone!

I have decided that exam week will be used to focus solely on your exam. Therefore, we will ONLY meet Monday for the first 15 minutes of class to go over the exam and assure all are clear. After that, we will not meet again this week and will resume our regular classes once we are back from Spring Break. Those who are late or absent Monday will have to simply read the instructions below carefully and email or visit to clarify any issues (provided your having missed class instruction is based on a legitimate and documented excuse). You will be expected to use the remaining weekly class periods to work on and complete the following exam. Follow the instructions very carefully and use your time wisely. I will be in my office and/or on campus during those times and/or available via email should you have any questions that cannot be answered by reading the instructions carefully and/or reviewing all notes, films, discussions, twitter feeds, etc. that are available to you for this exam.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. The exam is due to me VIA EMAIL ONLY no later that
Friday March 17, 2017 at 5p.

2. Your exam should be emailed as text in an email. Do NOT send ANY attachments whatsoever. Complete your work as you like, check it, proofread it and then COPY and PASTE that text DIRECTLY INTO A NEW EMAIL to me with SUBJECT: Mid-Term Exam. Do NOT send me Google docs or anything that requires permission for me to view it. Do NOT email any attachments of any kind.

3. Email me ONLY from your MSU email account and be sure your FULL NAME is visible in that email.

4. When writing your answers to the following questions explain them fully and detail all of your reasoning. Walk me through how you reached your conclusion being very detailed along the way. Write your answers as if you were trying to explain them to someone who has never considered these questions, ideas, themes, etc.

5. NO COURSE-RELATED EXAMPLE SHOULD EVER BE USED MORE THAN ONCE DURING THE EXAM (though different examples can be drawn from one source, for example, OJ: Made in America may be used repeatedly as long as separate and distinct examples from within it are used only once).

6. Here is a link to a smaller version of the digital textbook we also worked some from:
DRJB DigiText _19_.pdf

NOTE: Lateness will not be tolerated and will be severely punished to the tune of a 5 point deduction for every 10 minutes that exam is late.

Each question is worth 10 points (100 total).
