We are very close to the end of the first season of The Wire. We have seen numerous instances of violence, corruption, and misconduct. Given what we have seen thus far and what you read in “Policing the City,” do you think the creator/writers of the show are offering us a commentary on twenty-first century policing? Earlier in the semester I asked you with whom your loyalties resided. Several of you chose specific officers, and others of you rooted for some of the drug-slingers. Where are your loyalties now? Did you shift sides? Do you see connections between the reading and the episode/s?
