Initially, I didn’t think Tim Cook’s message was effective nor did I view him as a leader. I felt he was only protecting his company and not truly being concerned about the people they serve. My son was robbed and murdered and his phone was a part of the theft and all I could do was think of how I would feel if his case could move forward with a decision like this. I was livid. I thought how could they not for the sake of humanity. However, as Mr. Cook spoke around the third twist to this case, he actually communicated their intent so well, I could see past my emotions to the larger picture and that is monumental in itself.
